Are the BRUMABA Operating Stools Conductive?
Yes, our operating stools are conductive. We install static-conductive castors that ensure safe dissipation – however, only in combination with one of our conductive cushions in black or anthracite. Only this combination ensures a complete discharge path and meets the requirements for a conductive workstation, e.g., in operating rooms with sensitive equipment or in ESD-critical areas.
What Type of Flooring are the Operating Stools Suitable for?
BRUMABA operating stools are equipped with high-quality casters as standard, which are suitable for all common types of flooring:
- Hard floors (e.g. tiles, PVC, linoleum)
- Textile floors / carpets
- Sensitive surfaces (e.g. synthetic resin, coated parquet)

What are the Requirements for an Operating Stool?
An operating stool is a central element in everyday surgical work – often in use for hours and crucial for posture, concentration and long-term health. To ensure that an operating stool truly supports rather than burdens, it should meet certain ergonomic and functional requirements:
- The height adjustment must function continuously, ideally via foot control, so that readjustments can also be made in the sterile area.
- A stable, five-arm base ensures stability. The castors must be smooth-running, disinfectant-resistant and, if necessary, antistatic.
- Hygiene is crucial for use in the OR. Cushions and surfaces should be seamless, wipe-disinfectable and easy to clean.
- Castors, gas spring and cushions should be made of high-quality materials.
